Résumé: Despite significant progress in research on school principals’ wellbeing at work, its impact on their job attitudes remains largely overlooked. This study aims to examine the mediating role of wellbeing (vitality and emotional exhaustion) between perceived job demands (workload, mental load, and uncertainty) and principals’ job attitudes (job satisfaction and intention to quit). Conducted among 530 school principals from the province of Quebec, Canada, SEM results support a model explaining the mediating role of wellbeing between job demands and job attitudes. School organizations would benefit from a deeper understanding of these dynamics, which could inform the development of more effective practices to support principals’ wellbeing at work.
